The Festival of Murals (FOM) is a series of art, educational and community activities that will include a juried art competition of murals placed on exterior walls all throughout Wayne County, Indiana during the summer of 2010. Approximately 10 juried artists will be selected for residency to paint murals on pre-selected walls and participate in activities. One artist will receive a $5,000 award for Best Mural and remaining artists will receive $1,000 stipends.

The public will be invited to participate at a community mural and youth murals. The public will have the opportunity to meet the artists at festivities and participate in the judging of the Best Mural. Artists will give a presentation to the public and may participate in a community parade and other activites accessible to the public.

The festival will be filmed by WCTV of Richmond, Indiana and documented for a public TV program. This is the first of an annual event.

The FOM is co-hosted by the Wayne County Convention and Tourism Bureau, Inc. (WCCTB) and the Center City Development Corporation (CCDC) in Richmond, Indiana and sponsored by several generous contributors.
